Privacy Policy

YenEV is a marketplace that connects NYC TLC-licensed drivers with owners of TLC-compliant Tesla vehicles. This policy explains what we collect and why. We collect what we need to verify vehicles, review listings, and operate the service — not more.

Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email, and phone (when provided) to identify your account.
  • Vehicle & listing information — make, model, masked VIN (last 4 only on user-facing screens), borough, and pickup area for vehicles owners list.
  • Documents you upload — registration, insurance, and TLC paperwork. These are stored privately and shown only to you and our review team — never to drivers or the public.
  • Photos you upload — vehicle photos for listings. Approved listing photos may be shown to drivers.
  • Pickup location — the pickup area/coordinates an owner sets; shared with a driver only during an active, approved booking.
  • Booking information — booking details when booking is enabled for your account.
  • Payment information — only when a payment provider is enabled. Card details are handled by our payment processor; YenEV does not store full card numbers.
  • Tesla connection data — when an owner connects a Tesla account, the connection is handled server-side. Tesla access tokens are never exposed to the app or other users.
  • Support messages — content you send us for help.
  • Diagnostics — basic logs and crash/diagnostic data to keep the app working.

How we use information

To verify vehicles and drivers, review listings, operate bookings and digital-key access during active rentals, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

Vehicle access & Tesla

A driver can lock/unlock a vehicle only during an approved active booking, through our server-side safety gates. Owners and our support team can disable access. Tesla credentials and commands are handled server-side; the app never receives Tesla tokens or raw Tesla API data.

Data retention & deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal/insurance requirements. You can request deletion of your account and data — see Account deletion.
